The Metal

My pickup rings are heavy metal. Pup Plates are made of 12 gauge plate steel. That is 1/10th of an inch thick. Once the Pup Plate has been machined it is powder coated, chrome or gold plated.

The Coating

Presently, I only offer flat or gloss black colors. I will add other colors if there is enough interest so let me know. All colored plates are "powder coated" for durability. If you don't know what powder coating is, check it out on the Internet. It is as tough or tougher than the paint on your existing guitar hardware.  Powder coated parts will resist the sweatiest, most acidic, dirty abuse you can throw at it.

 The Plating

I offer chrome or gold plating. The plates are cleaned and buffed. First, a layer of copper is added to help the chrome adhere to the plate. After chromed, the plate will be buffed, waxed, and shipped.  For gold plates, several more layers of gold will be added on top of the chrome which produces a bright gold. Plating gold on top of chrome instead of copper really gives the finish a deep and bright look and is extremely durable.

The bottom line is that they are tough and look great. If you are not satisfied with the quality I will be glad to refund your money.
